Built this for a fwend

System specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 1600
16 gigs DDR4 memory (Geil Super Luce RGB)
MSI x470 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard
512gb M.2 NVME SSD
2Tb Western Digital Black
BluRay burner
Fractal Design Focus G case (mystic red)
500 watt EVGA power supply
MSI nVidia Geforce GTX 1060 6gb
5 Corsair LL120 RGB fans
AMD Wraith Prism CPU heatsink/cooler
Noctua F12 fan for bottom intake.

Decent bang for your buck if that's your price range. Gives you the glitz with room for CPU, power supply, and GPU upgrades later on.

Very nice, I haven't thrown a system together in awhile. I'm not much of a gamer anymore so my nearly two year old rig is good enough. I would have gone up on the PSU a bit though. At least 600W. My current tower actually has the original 650W power supply from a build I did about 7 years ago.

Good carb mechanics are hard to find these days. Got a 600CFM Edelbrock in one of my old trucks, but was thinking of upgading, especially since it's been in there for 25 years and is not original either. Any recommendations?

A Holley 600 , vac secondaries is probably the most popular carb in existence. I think all edelbrocks are squarebore. If it has an adapter plate on a spreadbore intake, throw away the adapter and get a rochester. Just don’t do like the morons do and put a 750-850 on a 200-300hp engine. A massive carb carb on a piss ant engine does nothing except make it run bad and make you look like an idiot. I had a holley 600 on a 383 that I built and it was enough. Took it on a test drive after breaking in the cam and almost lost it when it spun shifting into 3rd at 82. Wasn’t expecting that.
I have a ‘73 Corvette with a 750 q-jet and a 400 trans. It is 100% stock and puts out a massive 190hp. Talk about overkill
Join a forum on whatever you have. People a lot better than me can help. Found a forum on Ford tempos for a beater I drove to work. If there are forons to hot rod those pieces of shit, there is one for anything

Btw, i can rebuild an engine, suspension and a rear but unless my stepdad is telling me what to put where on a carb, I’m screwed.

A q-jet has 37,367 pieces
A holley has 87,465 pieces
